Saturday, August 28 2010: Join Seattle’s world class flamenco ensemble Carmona Flamenco (Marcos, Rubina and David) with dancer Ana Montes for an end of summer evening of flamenco music and dance at Solstice Cafe, 4116 University Way NE in Seattle. Show features Marcos on guitar, Rubina on vocals, David on Percussion, and Ana’s powerful dancing!

 Flamenco Guitarist Ricardo Diaz, who recently recorded his debut album in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain–the cradle of flamenco music–taps passionate and intense gypsy energy that will leave audiences with stories to remember. Diaz will be joined by artists from Spain and France, including internationally renown singers Cristo Cortes and Vicente Griego and dancer Antonio Arrebola.

 Saturday, June 12, 2010: Flamenco Arts Northwest presents La Peña Flamenca de Seattle, directed by Rubina Carmona, in “Fiesta del Verano”; an evening of flamenco music and dance, at the Ethnic Cultural Theatre, 3940 Brooklyn Ave. NE in Seattle, Washington.
Our troupe of twelve performers comprises the advanced dance students of Rubina Carmona, and guitarists, percussionist and singers who have studied with Marcos and Rubina. Concert will feature both modern and traditional cante and several new works of choreography, including Peteneras and Bulerias por Solea.
Showtime: 8:00 p.m.
