As part of the 2011 Seattle Flamenco website redesign, there is now an area for instructors to post information about upcoming flamenco dance, guitar, and singing classes. This space is intended for regularly held classes — special events and workshops should still be posted in the “Events” area.
Instructors: Please feel free to add information about your upcoming winter classes as soon as you have it. You’ll of course want to give an overview of what students will learn and of your approach to teaching, but keep in mind that these posts are intended to give a broad overview of what kind of instruction is out there, i.e. as opposed to every last detail about your class (for which you should direct students to your class website).
Students: If you’ve had good experiences with an instructor, feel free to tell the world in the comments section below each post. Seattle is fortunate to have a wide variety of flamenco instructors, each with his or her particular strengths. Feedback from course participants can be helpful to new students trying to decide on a course.

This is great Andy – Thanks so much for creating this forum!
Looking for classes for youth age 12…can’t find any actual class listings here…any suggestions? We are in the West Seattle area.
Hi Rebecca,
This particular page is still brand new — local teachers have not yet added their classes. Do check back, though (or subscribe to RSS or Email updates — over in the right sidebar); instructors should begin adding courses for the next session soon!
Best,
Andy
Rebecca;
I live and teach private classes in West Seattle. I can form a class for 3 or 4 students of that age group at my home studio. You can contact me at (206) 932-4067.
My regular group classes are at American Dance Institute on Greenwood at 80th, and new beginner classes start in February. I’d be happy to discuss how I can help you, so please give me a call. Thank you!

Hi, I’m interested in bata de cola technique. Any teachers?
Janina;
Sara de Luis teaches bata de cola classes; I’m not sure of her schedule.
Hello, I think I have my husband convinced to start taking beginner Flamenco lessons with me. Does anyone offer Flamenco classes for men? Thanks for any help.
Great site. I am interested in learning beginner Flamenco guitar in Seattle, either in a class or private lessons. I have some guitar experience, but not in classical guitar. Does anybody have any recommendations?
Hi Tom,
There are several guitar instructors in the Seattle area. Marcos Carmona easily has the most teaching and performance experience and takes on both beginning and advanced students. You can find his contact info at http://www.fanw.org.
Best,
Andy
Hi Tom;
The best way to contact Marcos is actually at carmona2@comcast.net, or (206) 932-4067. We hope to hear from you…
